I should be back to work tomorrow and together we can answer any questions you have. Love you lots and please, please, please be good for the sub. DO NOT FORGET THAT YOUR ORAL PRESENTATIONS BEGIN ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 19!! IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS YOU WILL HAVE TO COME SEE ME, EMAIL ME, OR TELEPATHICALLY COMMUNICATE WITH ME BEFORE THEN!

Firstly, you should have finished reading your second independent reading selection. Instead of the book covers you made last time, I'm going to have you fill out a form about what you read. The link is below. There is another activity for you to complete after you have done this, so you will need to come back to this page and keep reading. Independent Reading form
Once you have finished your Independent Reading Activity, you are going to research epitaphs and then create two of your own in the style of Spoon River. Firstly, you will need to go to the websites and look at some epitaphs. On a piece of paper either handwritten or typed, I want you to find at least five epitaphs that you find interesting, funny, or sad. You will also need to write down the website information for each epitaph. Mrs. Schatz can show you how to properly site a webpage. Your five epitaphs need to come from at least three of the websites. This paper with five epitaphs will be turned in to the sub and will be for a completion grade. Once you have done this, you are ready to start brainstorming ideas to write your own epitaphs. To do this, go to the epitaph form and fill in the information requested. Since you are creating two epitaphs, you will need to complete the form twice. Be sure to read the information at the top of the form to help you brainstorm your epitaphs. The form will collect EVERYONE'S information in a spreadsheet for me to see (and give you a grade), but anything you come up with that you really, really like you will need to write down. Your two epitaphs are for HOMEWORK.... and will be due next Tuesday, October 25th.
You need to find your next Independent Reading material and check it out today. Here are the requirements this time.... It has to be 10 full pages of text and you HAVE to enjoy it. Yep, it can be on any subject you choose. If you need help brainstorming things to read fill out this form Brainstorm something FUN to read.
